Welcome to the website of Douglas Kries,

a professor of philosophy at Gonzaga University who is a little embarrassed even to have a personal website, but who still offers it in the hope that others will find it helpful.

This site contains information about my academic appointments and teaching at Gonzaga, where I am an advocate for Catholic liberal arts education and for the careful reading of the 'great books' of political philosophy. The site also contains lists of my books, articles, book reviews, and lectures and conference presentations, some arranged chronologically and others topically. Some of the publications, many of the talks, and all of the teaching materials may be downloaded. All of the material on this site is protected by copyright, except for the teaching materials, which may be reproduced freely. It is also possible to contact me through the website.
